At Labelexpo India 2024, Multitec demonstrated its double servo mid-web S2 670mm 9 colour press running on a 12 micron substrate at 200m/min, setting new industry standards.  This press redefines the flexible packaging space by putting it squarely between digital and CI flexo/rotogravure. It is built on a heavy-duty structure, is completely vibration-free and incorporates the game changing “advanced anti-bounce” technology. This press is perfect for converters wishing to explore the short-run flexible packaging space for pouches, shrink sleeves, IML, etc. Equipped with an intelligent & centralized digitized press operation, the S2 includes LED & high-powered UV systems, an extended path in-line solvent drying unit, pre-register, auto-register, auto job settings, movable turnbar, and foiling. Converters can print various jobs with soft touch varnishes, foiling, and other value-added features in the flexible packaging space.

Another double servo S2 450mm 8 colour press will was printing shrink sleeves live at the show. The press included hybrid LED UV systems, die cut units, pre-register, auto-register, movable turnbar, delam-relam units, peal and seal kit, and foiling stations.

Both presses are capable of printing from 10 microns upto 450 microns at 200m/min with truly impressive registration and ultra-low setup wastage. There were many live demonstrations and presentations on the industry-leading features of the S Series of presses at the 350 sqm stand of Multitec

QP Holding, a Swiss group with multiple print houses across Europe have bought a Multitec dual servo S2 8 colour press and with this installation, Multitec enters the heart of Europe.

QP Holding has over 400 employees and operates in the label, carton and packaging market. The S2’s sale to the Swiss group demonstrates Multitec’s firm commitment to the European market. Agreements for further presses for their Swiss, German and Hungarian facilities are in place and willbe shipped within the next 12 months.

QP Holding did an in depth due diligence and extensive testing on Multitec equipment. Mr. C. Pitkit Printing Enterprises in Israel installs S1 8 colour press in 450mm width. This is Multitec’s first remote installation outside India. The press was up and running within 7 days of reaching the customer’s factory – doing full production jobs with auto-register.

Labelgroup based in Lipetsk, Russia opts for the 3rd Multitec press. Another 8 colour, 450mm S1 press with auto-register has been delivered to Labelgroup directly after displaying it at Labelexpo Europe, Brussels in Sep 2019.

The press was printing on 40 microns shrink PVC at Labelexpo Europe showing live jobs with cold foil.

Multitec ships another machine into Tanzania. This time around, it is an updated SX – 8 colour machine which will be used for printing soft packs for cigarettes, cosmetic labels and shrink sleeves. Sky Labels Kenya has purchased an S1 to cater to the demand of PS Labels, wrap around OPP labels, beer labels and IML. The kit is an 8 colour press with UV and hot air drying capability, cold foil, delam-relam, turnbar & corona system. Stallion Systems, a fast emerging label printing group having a pan India presence & in UAE, opts for their second Multitec press.

Sierra Leone gets a S1. Westflex will use this 8 colour/450mm press mostly for producing OPP sleeves & shrink sleeves for the beverage industry. Though the volume of self adhesive labels is not that big in their country, Westflex hopes to expand this market.
